Availability/Accessibility: The area is open year-round, but weather can affect accessibility, especially in winter. During the winter months, it’s best to prepared for snow and ice. There’s convenient parking and restrooms nearby. The trail around the lake is easy to navigate and accessible for everyone.
Crowded-ness: Because of how accessible and easy this trail is, it can get very busy. Early mornings or late afternoons are usually less crowded.
Cost: You’ll need to pay the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance fee, which is $30 per vehicle for a one-day pass. An annual pass is a good option if you plan to visit this or other National Parks often!
Are dogs allowed?: Unfortunately, no. Pets are prohibited on ALL Rocky Mountain National Park trails, tundra, and meadows.
